How Do I Sell My SRECs

To sell your SRECs at the market price on our system yourself.

1: First Confirm which energy year SRECs you have and the quantity in CEPS in your PJM-GATS account before selling your SRECs. (**NJ Runs on an Energy Year, June-May)

NJ, PA, and (*DE) Energy Year: Month of Generation

2013ey :(06/2012-05/2013)

2014ey :(06/2013-05/2014)

2015ey :(06/2014-05/2015)

OH, MD, and DC:  Calendar Year

 

2. Log into your Flett Exchange account.

3: Click on Trade

4. Select the appropriate actions: Market, Sell, Enter Volume, and Select Vintage (Energy Year) (Once the year is selected, the best bid price will automatically be entered for your sale.) Your facility will automatically be selected unless you have several facilities.  Order Expiration should be left as Never Expires

5. Preview your order (If selling in NJ, there is no need to worry about Grey Area Details or Partial Fills Option.)

6. Agree to the User Agreement and click Place Order.  You will receive a Congratulations! notification and an email confirmation.

7. Transfer your SREC(s) on GATS to Flett at sold price. (Within 3 Business Days)

8. Your sale is complete.

If you would like to offer your SREC at a higher price, you can change the current price when entering your order after selecting vintage (year).  If the market rises to your set price and sells, you will be notified via email.  Then you transfer your SREC to Flett on GATS. 

***Attention: By entering a price above the market price, you are NOT selling your SREC.  You are offering to sell your SREC at a higher price.  Do not transfer your SREC until it is sold and you have received an email confirmation. SREC Markets are volatile and prices can change daily unexpectedly.  Please do your own research before offering to sell above the market.  Flett Exchange LLC is not responsible for loss of potential sales from offering to sell above the current market, and sell orders are not filled.

 

 Remember, only sell SRECs that you have already earned and can transfer immediately via the PJM-GATS website. SRECs are created once a month on the last business day. If you have a 0 next to CEPS and have entered your meter reading or generation, you will need to wait until the end of the month for your SRECs to be created.
